Organised Crime Saddar Division have busted a gang of car and motorcycle snatchers and lifters, arrested its five members and recovered three each cars and motorcycles and number of illegal weapons. The accused have confessed committing 35 such incidents in various parts of the provincial metropolis. According to a Punjab Police's spokesman here on Thursday, Superintendent of Police (SP) Organised Crime Rana Muhammad Munawar constituted a special team headed by DSP Organised Crime Saddar Division Ejaz Shafi Dogar to check the incidents of car and motorcycle snatching.

The modus operandi of the gang members was that they used to lift motorcycles and cars and sell them on cheaper rates in tribal areas. They were also involved in cases of snatching cars and motorcycles on gunpoint. The accused committed crimes in Factory Area, Defence, Nasirabad, Liaqatabad, South Cantt, and Township. The arrested were identified as Faisal Gul alias Captain Mukhtar, Nabeel and Gul Jehan.
